Our story

It started with a missed consulate appointment.

A four-hour drive to Abu Dhabi, a queue, and the wrong copy of a birth certificate. The right one was in a drawer in Kerala. We rebooked for six weeks later.

That’s the part of expat life nobody warns you about: your family’s most important papers live in three cities, two languages and one increasingly worried WhatsApp group.

LegacySave is what we built so it never happens again: a vault our parents can actually use, and our children will inherit.

FAQ

The questions families ask first.

Who can read my documents?

Your files are encrypted in storage, and scanning runs only on servers we own and operate. Your documents are never sent to a third-party AI service. To be straight with you, this is not a zero-knowledge system: watching expiry dates and filling in fields means our servers can decrypt what you store. What we promise is that nothing is sold, shared, or used to train anything, and that access is limited and logged.

Where does it run?

The app runs on infrastructure we administer ourselves, and document reading happens on our own machines rather than on a big AI platform. Files are encrypted before they are written to storage.

What happens if I stop paying?

There is nothing to pay yet, and while we are building, everything is free. When a paid family plan does arrive, this is the promise: your vault stays readable and you can download everything you have put in it, every original scan, whenever you want. No lock-in.

Can my parents actually use it?

That was the design constraint. Big type, one button to scan, and you can set up their documents from your own phone and share access back to them.

What about a family spread across countries?

That is the normal case, not the edge case. A father in Dubai, a daughter in Toronto and parents in Kochi need different papers. Each person gets their own list, and the India-side documents everyone shares sit in one place.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone today. Android is on the roadmap and the app is built so it can follow.
